Garage juridique legal workshop

Dobson Practicum is thrilled to be able to collaborate with Garage Juridique, a legal clinic that helps start-ups and entrepreneurs. Dobson participants are invited to this workshop and information sessions where they will have the opportunity to ask any legal questions you have about their businesses.

The evening will include:

1) 20 minutes presentation on who we are, what are the legal questions that a startup team could encounter and how Garage Juridique can help;

2) 30 minutes to 1 hour : entrepreneurs  ask specific questions about their businesses. Some of these questions, Garage Juridique could answer right away if it's something general and some other questions they would need to do some research and get back to the entrepreneurs;

3) 15-20minutes: sign up with Garage Juridique to get more on one-on-one information.

Lean Start-ups and customer validation

This exclusive event for Dobson Practicum participants featured a presentation by Ben Clayton on the topic of Lean Start-Up and Customer Validation.

Ben Clayton is a fierce supporter of the lean startup methodology, Ben is committed to helping both startups and established companies talk to customers to find their pain and uncover innovative solutions and new business opportunities.

Originally from music city, Nashville, Tennessee, Ben played music and worked in TV and film before moving to Los Angeles in 2003 to focus solely on film. Soon after he met a young entrepreneur with a huge global vision to bring sustainable living solutions through an online startup. After producing 3 shows, securing financing, and hiring full time staff, Ben left to start his own company in solar energy. Inspired by the potential to have a positive impact through business, Imani Energy focused on job creation and training in traditionally impoverished neighborhoods of LA. Ben moved to Montréal in 2011 and has been working with startups and existing companies through early validation and business development ever since.
